The Center for New Enlistees and Recruits to the MV
Published on January 3, 2009 By Cypher In Metaverse

Hello new recruits and enlistees. Welcome to the Metaverse. This forum post is for all newcomers to GalCiv2, or just newcomers to the MV. If you're not sure what empire to join on the MV, make a reply on this post and the leaders/senators of the MV empires will take a look and offer you the chance to join their empires.

A Brief Overview on the MV

The Metaverse is one of a kind in that you can play on it whenever you want, and you don't have to go through the complicated process of setting up a game like you do in a regular Multiplayer format. You have three character slots. These slots are your tickets into the MV and into MV empires. Once you've created a character, you can choose to add him to an already existing empire. That's where this post comes in. If you are unsure about which empire to join, or if you are unsure about which empires are currently still active in the MV, this is the place to go for that information. If you have any questions or comments, post to this thread and either myself or a browsing veteran will respond as soon as possible.

I am not entirely certain on how popular this post is going to be. The MV is kind of at a standstill right now, but their are still people posting to it and adding to their empires scores. I encourage anyone who is not currently part of an empire to make a character and join one. Like I said before, any questions that you have on how to do this can be posted right here on this thread. Being active in the Metaverse is just another great part about GalCiv2.

Finally, I am going to try and keep an updated list of active MV empires, and also one of currently "dead" empires. I'm only going to list dead empires that are in the Top 15, but I will be willing to list any empire, no matter what rank, that is currently active in the MV. If a player comes to this thread and sees that their active empire isn't in my list, please feel free to drop me a reply so that I can add you to the list of actives. Also, you may have noticed that some of the active empires have their names as links. If you click on one of these links, you will be taken directly to that empire's official thread. I hope you find everything you need here at the MVRC. Thank you and Best Regards.

Sorry for a late response - I've been busy with basketball.

Anyway, "Active but Quiet" means that any empire on that list is not completely "Inactive" yet - they still have a few players posting scores every now and then - but a majority of their players don't talk on the forums anymore, and their empire threads are relatively quiet.

As for having to be "Evil" to join an "Evil" empire - don't worry about that. If you prefer "Good," you're still welcome to join the ToE (or any other "Evil" empire). For a majority of players, "Evil" just fits into their strategy the best, so that's why a large amount of them have "Evil" medals.

In case this hasn't been made clear, you are welcome to join the ToE. We'd be glad to have you aboard. Best Regards.

lol, I was partially kidding. Most of my games end as conquest and I destroy colonies I conquer to decrease micro management. And I get it is just roleplaying.

But its the principle! I kind of wish the space orcas were active, I like killer whales

Yeah, we Geckodons are not evil, we just love war because we are warriors (like the Kzinti). So if you don't want to become the hunted then join the Geckodon Alliance. Also we accpet good and neutral players, as long as they have the heart of a warrior.

Seth MAKE UP YOUR MIND! you are EVIL there i said it...

ohh well its hard to see the Confederation in this state the only empire the regects Evil starting to decline. sigh

Sorry to get in the way of the squabble, but I just wanted to add my opinion that "Active but quiet" is a better title. If only a couple of members post scores, even in a large empire, it should still be considered active.

Until a week or so ago when the Gerontacracy got a few new members, we had maybe 3 people actually posting scores. However we are also somewhat active in the forums. But if we weren't, it would be easy for someone at a glance to consider us inactive.

I can see how people can play this game but don't have a need or desire to chat about it on the site. Or that just never realized that the forums were so active.

We Kzinti are not evil, just....very hungry.   It is right for the strong and swift to devour the weak and slow.  This is the natural law of the galaxy.  Kzinti stalk the far reaches of the stars and prey is bountiful.  Would you become the hunter or the hunted?

Welcome Jonathan Parker!

kinda like the Zerg. one powerful overmind controlling hudnreds of weak, mindless followers, with one or two powerful exceptions of course.

This sthondat speaks with grass between his teeth.     The elitist tyrannical mind continues to fail to grasp the nature of the Kzinti, and the narrow-minded sensibilities that tyranny breeds will always be its greatest weakness.  Kzinti warriors and Heroes are free to roam the galaxy as they wish, conquering and subjugating as they please.  Even the most inexperienced warrior has value to us, and the Kzinti will not purge them as others have done, for the mere sake of appearances, when they committed no dishonor.  Even the mightiest of Conquest Heroes were once mewling kits.

The Kzin is right, our allies the Tyrannts are some what narrow minded compared to the Kzinti and Geckodons. Anyways, we Geckodons will accept even the most unexperienced warrior for we will take him and make him a true warrior.

we accept low-scoring players. in fact, we want them. we pride ourselves on the fact that so many players have come so far, so fast whilst within the cold bloody vice grip of our clutches. it's non-scoring players that get a big, spikey, tyrannical boot we're elistist because we make our tyrants elite!

...

(and just to be clear to my friends in the kzinti empire, including ones i haven't yet met, as well as new players reading this thread, this is all intended as friendly banter between friends).
